How it works
- Play a voyage. Three mini games and a treasure round, about ten minutes. Every tap, swipe and cannon shot spells a word.
- The compass finds their level. Spellcove watches which words come easily and which wobble, then serves words right at the edge of what your child knows.
- Treasure makes it stick. Hearts give each word stakes, streaks reward focus, and the treasure shelf fills up so kids come back tomorrow.
- Use your own list. Paste this week's words from school into the list maker, or print a spelling test.

Questions parents ask
What age is Spellcove for?
Kids in grades 1 to 5, roughly ages 6 to 11. Younger kids learning to read will like our sister game for sight words.
How do I help my child practice spelling at home?
Short daily practice where your child writes or builds the word from memory, then checks it right away. Five to ten minutes beats one long session.
Can I use my child's spelling list from school?
Yes. Paste the words into the list maker and the whole game plays with that list. You'll get a link you can bookmark or share.
Can teachers use Spellcove in class?
Yes, and it's free for classroom use: no accounts, no ads, and it runs on Chromebooks, iPads and the board. You can also embed it on your class site.
Are there free printable spelling tests?
Yes. The spelling test template prints numbered lines and an answer key for any list, including your own.
Is the spelling game really free?
Yes. The whole game plays free in your browser, with no signup, no ads and no time limit. The Spellcove app is the paid version for iPhone and iPad. It adds every word read aloud, offline play and a parent progress view.
What are the best spelling apps for kids?
